QwikStrip™ Care & Usage

The depth-limiting design of QwikStrips prevents soft-tissue irritation, while the unique handle design provides a comfortable grip for optimal tactile control, giving easy access to tight anterior or posterior spaces. Qwikstrips are color coded and are available in either serrated or abrasive strips with the following grit types: extra coarse, coarse, medium, fine, and super fine.

Cement Removal

QwikStrip™ Serrated Strips are designed to make crown and bridge clean-up quick, safe, and simple after cementation of crowns, inlays, onlays, bridges or veneers. Cleaning up is never this easy!

Hold the Serrated Strip with your thumb and index finger and insert the serrated blade between the teeth with a gentle “sawing motion” to easily remove
the overow of cement.

Finishing, Polishing, Stain Removal or Overhang Correction

QwikStrip™ single-sided (straight or curved) version can be used in the anterior or the posterior of the mouth. Finish or polish
any restoration to perfection with the QS-SF (superne) strips. Using the curved version (QSC-SF) will enable you to remove
stains, preserve the anatomical contour where needed, or to correct overhangs.

Interproximal Reduction (IPR)

When used for any IPR procedure, simply follow the QwikStrip™ color coded sequence guide provided for acheiving precise
Interproximal reduction (IPR). The guide will enable you to acheive from .07 mm up to .5mm of space. Use all versions of QwikStrip™ (single-sided, double-sided, and curved) in any area of the mouth.

Following the sequence guide will ensure that you accomplish the desired result. For safety, use oss through the tether holes on the QwikStrips.

IPR Sequence Guide

In order to create precise interproximal spaces for any Orthodontic procedure (including Invisalign™, Clear Correct™, Six Month Smiles™, or MTM™) use QwikStrip™ color coded strips according to the sequence guide outlined below. The reduction process (IPR) should begin with the yellow single-sided grit (.07 mm), and continue in sequence until the desired space is achieved up to .5mm.

Check the reduction with an approved measurement guide before moving to the next color (grit) in the sequence.

Note: Use all versions of QwikStrip™ (single-sided, double-sided, or curved) in any area of the mouth. However, for maintaining the anatomical contour on posterior teeth or when rening the natural anatomy of the anterior teeth, nish by using the curved version. All widths are ± .05 mm.

Use and Sterilization Instructions

Intended Use - QwikStrip™ hand held strips are used for Interproximal reduction(IPR), nishing and stripping, and for removing excess cement after seating crowns, inlays, onlays, bridges or veneers, and can be used in both the anterior or the posterior of the mouth.

Safety Precaution - As a safety measure, prior to using a QwikStrip™, secure the QwikStip by tying a piece of oss through one of the tether holes located at the top of the QwikStrip™. Wrap the opposite end of the oss around one of your other ngers to secure the QwikStrip™.

Precautions

  • Sterilize QwikStrip™ prior to patient use. Follow sterilization details provided below.
  • Prior to initial use, read and adhere to the “Instructions for Use” completely. Use of a QwikStrip™ that deviates from the “Instructions For Use” is at the sole discretion and sole responsibility of the user.
  • Do not use any QwikStrip™ that is damaged, bent, broken, or shows irregular or abnormal signs of wear.
  • “Finish” with the appropriate curved QwikStrip™ for maintaining the anatomical contour of any teeth treated.
  • Use a “gap gauge” during IPR procedures when gap width accuracy is desired.
